What is the Eudora School Foundation?
The Eudora Schools Foundation (ESF) is a non-profit foundation which raises funds to enrich the student experience, reward teacher excellence and make our Eudora schools the very best.
We accomplish this by:
- Providing resources to support and inspire innovative educational initiatives.
- Developing partnerships to leverage community resources to support students and teachers.
- Funding initiatives that are outside of the scope of the school district operating budget.
- Working collaboratively with the Eudora School District to understand educational priorities that will inform, but not dictate, funding decisions.
- Being an efficient and responsible steward of all donations and funds.
Who supports the Eudora Schools Foundation?
Individuals including parents, grandparents, alumni and district staff support the ESF through annual gifts, honorariums, one-time contributions and planned giving. Businesses, corporations and larger foundations are also providing support for the ESF.
What is the Tax Identification Number of the Eudora School Foundation?
The federal tax id number for the Eudora Schools Foundation (EIN) is 03-0557553. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
What is Eudora Schools Foundation’s relationship with the Eudora School District?
The ESF is an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The Board of Trustees includes the Superintendent and a member of the Board of Education as non-voting ex-officio members. In keeping with its mission the ESF is intended to enhance rather than replace funding for the Eudora School District budget.
Who will benefit from ESF grants?
The students enrolled and staff employed in the Eudora School District exclusively benefit from ESF grants. Indirectly, the community at large will benefit from the improved educational experience of Eudora School District students.
What accountability is there for Foundation funds?
The ESF is recognized under state and federal law as a 501(c)3 charitable, tax-exempt organization. The Board of Trustees carefully oversees donations and grants as stewards of ESF resources. These financial records are open to public review.
How are the Foundation’s directors chosen?
The initial Board was selected by an ad hoc steering committee comprised of community leaders interested in public education. The ESF Board members represent varied constituencies throughout the Eudora area. If you are interested in finding more about Board membership, please contact us through our website.
Does the Foundation compete with the PTOs, booster clubs and other groups for financial support?
No. Such groups have valid, specific purposes within the public schools and solicit support for limited and special projects. The ESF seeks support from those interested in the broader aspects of education, in order to enhance the opportunities for students across the Eudora School District. ESF frequently works in partnership with the PTO and booster clubs on educational initiatives.
