The Eudora Schools Foundation receives $34,585 gift from Farmers State Bank - second largest single gift in Foundation history

The Eudora Schools Foundation (ESF) and Farmers State Bank (FSB) are proud to announce a $34,585 gift to support the installation of a new electronic marquee at Eudora Elementary School on 10th Street.

The Eudora Schools Foundation (ESF) and Farmers State Bank (FSB) are proud to announce a $34,585 gift to support the installation of a new electronic marquee at Eudora Elementary School on 10th Street.

Approved at the USD 491 Board of Education meeting on Thursday, this generous contribution from Farmers State Bank represents the second largest single gift in the Foundation’s history. The new marquee will serve as a vital communication tool for students, families, and the Eudora community—highlighting school events, student achievements, and important announcements.

“This gift from Farmers State Bank is another wonderful example of community partnership in action,” said Dr. Stu Moeckel, Eudora Schools Superintendent. “Their generosity helps us communicate more effectively and celebrate the amazing things happening at Eudora Elementary. We are grateful for their continued commitment to our students and schools.”

Farmers State Bank, locally led and Kansas-owned, has a long history of community engagement and service. Following its merger with Kaw Valley State Bank, the Eudora branch remains staffed by the same familiar faces that local families know and trust—continuing a legacy of community banking and local investment.

“Farmers State Bank is proud to continue our tradition of giving back,” said Henry Sloan, Regional President, Farmers State Bank of Eudora. “For more than 100 years, FSB has supported schools, events, and local organizations. Our record of community involvement truly sets us apart, and we’re thrilled to extend that same commitment to Eudora. You won’t find another bank more involved in our communities!”

“This extraordinary contribution from Farmers State Bank reflects their deep-rooted belief in the power of community partnerships,” said Shanda Hurla, Executive Director of the Eudora Schools Foundation. “Their investment will have a lasting impact on our ability to connect, communicate, and celebrate the great work happening across our district. We are sincerely grateful for their generosity.”

The Eudora Schools Foundation is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) that generates resources, builds relationships, and champions public education in Eudora Public Schools. Founded in 2006, the Foundation exists to enhance the quality of education through partnerships with the community.
